The annual ANZCA CTN Strategic Research Workshop is a core business activity where more than 200 delegates from Australia and New Zealand meet in a central location. The annual strategic research workshop is designed to foster the next generation of high-quality research and evaluation and to develop new multi-centre research proposals. To date, CTN investigators have secured more than $75 million dollars in competitive grant funding over 30 years to run large multicentre clinical trials from funding bodies such as the Medical Research Future Fund, National Health and Medical Research Council, and the Health Research Council of New Zealand. Most of the early concepts for these trials were developed through these annual strategic workshops.
